Default VCE-JFK Delta 763 What to expect?

Hi. In the summer I might be flying on Delta airlines from Venice to New York JFK. Did you ever fly in a delta 763? What should I expect? I will be flying with my 2 brothers, and would like to know when is a good time to ask to see if I can see the cockpit (before or after the flight). I think after is better because the pilots will have more time to talk to me etc.

lots of feedback welcome
Thanks a lot!

Same as every other flight. Sitting in a cramped tube for x number of hours, eating whatever the F/A's throw at you, and being bored.

Seriously, the 67s are a nice ride. Fairly quiet from what I remember, and they ought to take care of you pretty well.

As far as going to see the cockpit, I'd ask on my way in, and if denied there, on my way out. The crew will be busy getting ready to go before departure. After landing, they'll be ready to get to the hotel, or home. Either way, off the airplane. That doesn't mean they won't be happy to let you take a look though.

Flown the 763ERs of DL many times and always had good experiences. Economy is pretty much average, so I would try to get an Exit Row seat, although the other seats are not too cramped. You get one meal and one movie in Eco. If you have the money or the (Sky-) miles, try to get into BusinessElite. 152 cm's seat pitch, good IFE and delicious food. Always worth a trip.

I have a question about the sky miles. I always fly on the delta, airfrance etc. Skyteam. What is the average amount of miles needed for a free ticket, let's say a distance of New York to Europe? I know that they don't count the actuall amount of miles travelled but I think that they break them down or something.

I am really having trouble finding out how it works

It is easier to IM me at Blink182td2

I don't know the exact numbers anymore, ever since DL made severe changes to the Skymiles programm. Best place to look is http://www.delta.com/skymiles/index.jsp
That should give you all the information needed.

I've flown a DAL 763 and it is a pretty good ride. They had bagged meals in a bin before the flight that the pax took, but IMHO a full meal would have been nice (this was an ATL-LAX routing). Now, however, I believe they have started charging for meals. The room in Y isn't all that bad...it's much better than their 752s.

Hey.. The 763 is a wonderful aircraft..

I cant really say anything about the flight.. but if you can get businessElite.. its worth it! I got bumped up to BusinessElite for no apprent reason.. Still a little confused on why it happened. Anyways.. If there is a cheap way to get it.. GET IT!

Asking to see the cockpit.. Ask first! As the flight attendent back in the back or whereever. Start by asking them about their job. Get them interested.. and show them you are seriously interested in the airline industry.. then right before you leave, ask if you can go up and visit the pilots. Hey.. when I did.. not only did i spend 20 minutes up with the pilots prior to push back.. the asked me if i would like to sit in First Class!

Its definatly worth it! And.. if your FO on that flight is Louis Villafane... tell him Adam says hi.. hes my uncle!

I have flown Delta many times and its service is just fine. I like flying DL everytime I get the chance to fly w/ it. And its 763ER's are no doubt the most comfortable long-haul aircraft I've flown, even though I've only flown economy class. Beats the 772ER's anyday. Overall, my experience w/ DL has been good.

Happy Flying!
