Greek govt sells ex-Olympic A340s

The Greek government is to sell the four A340-300s which have been languishing at ATH for the last few years; the quad of quads (!) have been acquired for the less than stellar sum of just over $40m.

Olympic, which stopped flying long haul routes some years ago, used the A340s for its long haul services in 2003, to replace the 747s which had been used since the early 1970s.

That really isnt a lot of money for the A340. Got to wonder what the buyer intends to do with them. I wouldnt be supprised if these 4 end up being turned into coke cans and spares.

maintenance logs are partly being missed, long storage period,....

doesn't looks like a good future ...
