    Man we are in trouble:

Obama Selling Military Secrets To China For Debt Forgiveness?
By: Tyler Durden Monday, June 01, 2009 3:57 PM
    Sectors: Finance

Ran across this article posted in Jumping In Pools. Not sure how credible it is, but allegedly Barack Obama will provide the blueprints for the B-2 stealth bomber to China in exchange for $50 billion in debt relief. According to author Richard Hogarty:

According to the Administration, this proposal will help the United States resolve its debt issues. They point out their belief that the B-2 bomber is "strategically obsolete", according to a source in the White House Press Office. In addition, the source claims that the Chinese would be unable to create their own functioning stealth bomber fleet for "at least eight years."

American allies Taiwan, Japan, and South Korea are very wary of the proposal. Koo Syi, a geopolitical analyst from South Korea, points out that this technology could be passed to China's allies. This was the case when Chinese nuclear technology was transferred to Pakistan and North Korea. According to Koo, Obama has rendered US allies' opinions as "irrelevant."

While this proposal is controversial, it is not being presented to Congress, where it could meet with stern opposition. Instead, the State Department has been informed to assisted the Defense Department with the transfer of materials.
A little skeptical here as frankly $50 billion is less than a drop in the bucket of Chinese Treasury holdings which are easily well over $1 trillion. The economic impact of this transaction would be negligible to zero. On the other hand, if this ends up being true, it is quite frightening, as it merely demonstrates, aside from all the scary geo-political considerations, just how bad of a dealmaker our President is.
Hillary, who's husband was neck deep in China scandals will be in charge of the transfer.

Would you please care to explain the relevance of this article to the Aviation Safety forum?

ITS, this forum is too easy for flame bait. I would think you'd try this somewhere where it was a bit more of a challenge. Then again, I guess shooting fish in a barrel can be fun sometimes...

The article, if true, is relevant as it demonstrates a naive mindset within the current US Administration which sets aviation and defense policy. The Administration has exhibited a distain for business aviation and taking control of the automobile industry, an indsutry which helped win WW-II. This information also indicates where China is planning to position itself in the worldwide defense and large aircraft industry. As more high tech production shifts out of the USA, the economy and industrial power of the USA will tailspin further. In the longrun this is very, very bad in terms global security and commercial aircraft maintenance support. Think big... nothing happens by accident.

            Concur

I am convinced that Obama/Clinton are bent on reducing the USA to a third world country.

The way you do it is take over industry and sell out the technology.

They are about to position China and Europe as "the" world powers.

Want to see something scary? Read the words said during the first "public" Presidential Oath by Obama.

I don't know about China but from what I've seen happening over here the last decade or so I wouldn't immediately use the words Europe and power in the same sentence.

Even if this where true, and I don't believe it for a second, then just the idea fhte B-2 is obsolete is insane! It makes you wonder just what kind of black projects the US has flying around!

                      Yep.

You and I have spoke before on what is going on.

Right now you are seeing the Obama Government through govt. monies take control of the industry and banking in the United States.

Doing so, they are appointing thier own people to run them.

This then becomes a system where the Govt. doesn't have to run the industry--but they control it.

In a word it is Fascsim and was tried in Italy and Germany.

Meanwhile China is being allowed to become the dominat world superpower. I don't know why but there has been a longtime push to control China that dates back to the Marco Polo days and Opium wars.

We are headed into a real mess.

I do not believe this report.

                          (1) Now that the B-2 is visible to the public any country could replicate (seni reverse-engineering) the airframe geometry, perhaps employing more advanced materials (The B-2 program was started under President Carter so that makes the concept around 30 years old).
The real secrets are the manufacturing processes - not even Boeing could use these processes on the 787 - they had to develop manufacturing processes from scratch or use those comercially available.

                          (2) Given China's location in the world and lack of overseas bases would fielding the B-2 (or a look alike) make sense? I do not know the answer.

Right...so let me get this straight, you claim that there has been a "longtime push to control china" yet you also claim that Obama is willing to sell one of the keystones of America's aviation dominance - VLO technology. China and the US will clash militarily in some way in the next 50 years (being generous here, proably less), so China will be 'the enemy', yet you claim Obama is going to sell the B2 tech? No other nation has been able to develop VLO tech (some have managed LO or reductions in radar signature, but not VLO level stuff. And for 50 billion (a drop in the budgetary bucket given the amounts involved in the recovery from national debt) he's going to virtually gve away one of America's most closely guarded secrets...Yeah, right.

This screams consipracy theory to me. It seems you and ATFS like to pedal political tripe on here.

If China is going to make a copy of the B2, they will need to do a better job than the time they reverse engineered the 707, and made the entire fuselage with button head rivets.
