Today I took a student up and flew up the Hudson river in NYC. I'll upload them here later, but for now check them out on my flickr site http://www.flickr.com/photos/jriegel/
Irony: It is illegal to fill up your car with gas in New Jersey...but filling your own plane with leaded fuel is just fine

Up in my neighborhood I see. No stop at HPN?
As for the gas, Its a good 20 cents cheaper in Jersey than NY. My dad works in Jersey and only fills his car up there!

We'd have 4 if there was room....lol
Actually, we got the portable one before we got the panel mounted ones, mostly for the weather datalink. Once we got the GNS430's installed, we kept the 396 for a backup. I actually like the weather display much better than the ones on the 430's.

Yeah, I heard the 396 is really nice, especially with the weather.

The XM weather datalink is the best thing since sliced bread. Be able to plan weather avoidance from 500 miles away is great!

Heh, I can only dream. I have to pick my way around the DC ADIZ in 4 miles of haze with this thing...most of the time I don't even use it. Database expired in 2002 anyway.

Planning on beginning that process in the next week or so. I recieved news that my school is probably merging with Jet U in the somewhat near future. And that's something I dont want to be a part of.

737 is a great aircraft, but the MD-11 blows it out of the water.
