Believe this or not, he's actually a 727 Captain for FedEx.

A FedEx 727 captain? This is sad coming from an individual who's supposed to be a professional.

Viva UPS!

So what are you saying? That all airline pilots (or professionals in general for that matter) have to be serious all the time? Get real.

Hehe, I guess ITS can handle a bit anymosity from your part.

A friendly(!) advice from those who know him longer: Read between the lines, don´t condamn him because of his different diction and why not learning something besides ?!

No, but I would expect an airline captain to act like a 14 year old kid. There's a difference between having some fun and acting like an immature kid.

What is it about Plane Spotters that guts them of any humor?

Why do they take themselves soooooooooo seriously?

I think anyone who runs around looking at planes is acting like a 14 yr. old kid.

Truth is I think most Plane Spotters need a hobby.

Ever fly a kite?

Ummm I believe most of the people here like to look at planes probably Chris included..
And in case you forgot your on a website which has pictures of those flying things called airplanes, in order to take some photos the photographers had to "stop" the planes right????????????
And your a pilot??
I find that hard to swallow.

I prefer acting like a 14 years old kid and catching a cold while spotting planes instead of being mature and sitting at home in front of the TV with a can of Bud’s and a cigarette and getting lung cancer.

And I am even more sick and childish: After seeing 1000s of aircraft taking off from 36L @Beijing Capital Airport, I still think it’s a miracle that these beasts fly (and I’ve seen everything from C172 to An225 here).

Aaaand...yes: I have some other hobbies.

Charles,

1. Maybe because you like to insult them is why they take themselves seriously.

2. I think anyone who is irrevernt to others because of their hobby is acting like a High School Freshman.

3. Truth is YOU need hobby other than surfing internet forums

4. Ever jump in a lake?

Robert he is a pilot, you cant tell by the ego? I actually talked to Shady in a Chat room once, and right away his ego proved he was a pilot. He is the stereotypical cargo pilot, rude and with an ego so big, rumor is, that when he boards his aircraft his ego is so big he has to enter through the cargo doors. If people on this board would stop viewing his posts or responding to his posts his ego would not be able to stand it and he would find elsewhere to feed his ego, but as long as he can stir up contraversy and we feed his ego he is probaly going to stay!

Elwood

My point exactly.

Who doesn't enjoy watching a plane?

From the start of time it has been the dream of man to fly. I ask--how many other pursuits are so ingrained in the concious of man? I dare say no other.

The ancients did not dream of skyscrapers, automobiles, televisions, telephones, radios. But flight was in thier soul.

Even today watch a pilot and even though he flies for a job, there is enjoyment in watching a passing plane.

-------------------------

Jorge---I post on two Forums and average less than two post per day.

You have no sense of humor and I feel sorry for you. I imagine you so rigid that you are offended by the dial tone of your phone when you pick it up to make a call.

Of all the people you really need a hobby.

Hope to see you in the chat room soon if there is room for both of us.

ITS,

In the UK you would be known as a sh*t stirrer.
This is a definite and specific genre of humour and an acquired taste, hence some of the posters here don't like your particular flavour.

Keep it up and let's hope others can read between your lines. I'm not certain that I can but I'm having a damn good try.

I know several pilots, my CFI was actually a cargo pilot once.. But he doesnt make fun of the guys who sit out at the airport all day long and watch planes saying that are acting like kids when in fact it would be the person making fun of the "kids" who is acting rather childish.
I know a 757 pilot who likes to watch planes..

I find ITS rather annoying and not funny.
