And people still ask "where are our flying cars". We all get out on the highway, and I'd think some would say "we don't need any more idiots in the sky".

Unless something forced the pilot to abort the takeoff.

Looks like the instrument panel might have survived and if the wing actuators are steel then they might reveal control surface settings.

                  Can you define "tankering" please.

Tankering: The practice of taking more fuel than you normally would for the flight, with the intention to have fuel available for your next flight because fuel is either not available or too expensive at the destination. That is, to use the plane to haul fuel as if it was a fuel truck also known as "tanker".

Which is really silly... because if they were trying to abort a takeoff and were on the brakes, of course there would be wheel marks on the grass where they went off the end of the runway.

Reversers are stowed so don't look like they were trying to abort.

                          Horrible scene....

You of course have all the information to hand to be able to confirm that there is no excuse here. I would assume that the NTSB are even now forming a orderly queue at your front door !

The Gulfstream iV has a payload capacity of 3,400lbs, but fully fueled that is reduced to 1,220. Tankering fuel means taking less payload because if you don't you don't get off the ground so well. If they exceeded MTOW or even the calculated TOW they might have rotated late and clipped the LOC or the lighting structures and come down again. There were only 7 persons aboard but who knows what else they were carrying. Pure speculation based on nothing but past events involving such treachery.
