Dammit another 727 down...My uncle who was a Senior 727 Captain had a fuel starvation problen inflight were he lost 2 of its engines and most power on the 3rd one.

Starting procedures in flight made the plane recover some of the thrust enough to barely reach the airport. Investigation identified clogged fuel filters as the cause go figure.

A good friend is in the investigating team for this, weather had been the worst in the region for years and years.

The aeroplane circled destination and diverted after 30 minutes...it made a few missed approaches at the diversion field unsuccesfully as the weather worsened and they were left with no option but make a forced landing. It appears fuel ran out on downwind for their last approach and they put the aeroplane down on the only clearing they could find. The wings and engines were ripped off but the fuselage remained remarkably intact!

        more to follow
