    Situation seems to be worsening by the minute. I have heard that three aircraft have been attacked and/or on fire - one PIA, one AirBlue and one from an international carrier. EK and TG on the ground and EK - as reported above - apparently stranded. Some reports say that the aircraft has been the target of a hijacking attempt.

    Clearly, as this seems to be a developing story, accurate reports will take time to come through.

    Latest reports say rocket fired towards one plane.

            COMPLETELY Off Topic. Keep your right/bat-winged drivel out of this. We are looking for facts about this situation - and it's clear that you don't have any so let's move on.

            Back to the point;

            Seven bodies have been recovered from near a cold storage facility at a Karachi airport Tuesday morning

            Seven bodies have been recovered near a cold storage facility at a Karachi airport Tuesday morning, more than a day after a deadly militant attack there left 29 others dead. The seven cargo workers were found in rubble near the hall where a fire broke out during the attack.
            This article and update are as of approx. 9:00AM EST via CNN, and independently verified by their CNN Asia desks.

            Farooq Sattar, a member of parliament, was on a plane at the airport when the attack took place.
            "My aircraft was on the tarmac ready to take off when suddenly, from what I understand, a message came to the pilot saying to get off the runway and return to the gate," Sattar said. "I heard shots and saw smoke."
            "Before the pilot could announce anything, I had text messages blowing up my phone saying 'Karachi airport under attack.' We were in the aircraft for three hours, full of fuel. They locked the doors.
            "The airport was poorly guarded. It was only due to some airport security personnel that the attack got thwarted and the militants didn't make it to our part of the airport. Passengers were extremely nervous. They started looking at me for answers."
            "We felt like sitting ducks on the tarmac," he added.
            This is a lot of text to post, but it's a great insight to what a passenger was seeing occurring, and how some of the immediate reporting and speculation to a very difficult situation to understand - even to people who were at greatest harm.

              UPDATED: 17:53 EST, 9 June 2014

              Burning wreck: TV footage appeared to show aircraft ablaze on the tarmac of Jinnah International Airport, but a spokesperson for the Pakistani military said no aircraft were damaged.
              This via the daily mail. Perhaps someone in the U.K. and/or Pakistan can verify how range the Daily Mail's reach might be in Pakistan to verify what is being said by the said spokesperson.

                Only a single PIA 743 has been pictured with damage nothing too serious, it looks repairable.

                Cargolux and Cathay Pacific have stopped flying there.

                    The 743s are being retired/on their way out already - no? I mean, if it were badly damaged, it's not as if they would be in a rush to have it repaired, right? Or, is/was there a plan for the fleet with PIA?
