Default Ryanair Makes NEW Bid on Aer Lingus

http://www.flightglobal.com/news/art...lingus-373180/

Oh let the fun begin, the norm is consolidation in the industry, but does the EU agree with Ryanair?

hasn't Ryanair been stopped by the EU some time back, on exactly this matter?

on the other hand, I'd like to see Airbuss'es in RYR colours, especially the 330s

It could be a new idea from MOL, to be first "to hop the Atlantic as a LCC".... remember, DY is planning to do so with 787s ...

880m $ is a big amount, but, isn't it a bit low? anyway, maybe the Irish State could need'em? (isn't Aer Lingus, at least partly holded by the Irish State?)

Yup, back in 2006, when it was a hostile takeover, EU reasoned it would lead to a monopoly and restrict competition. Also the Irish govt has a 25% stake in Aer Lingus. It might be just they dont like O'Leary.

who doesn't but, we all love to get somewhere, on a cheap way....

for example:

price for 3 people, go-return flight from Brussels-Charleroi (B) to La Rochelle (F) all taxes incl:

131,26€

3 people!!! for that way, you can't get cheaper there by car!

Whilst i understand what your saying there you have to remember that with all the extras its going to come to more than 131 euros, quite a bit more infact. I will only use Ryanair for short flights and the same goes for Easyjet and usually now only if i dont need to take hold luggage.

yes, but, for a week trip, it goess well without baggages ,,.... (only cabin bags) and priority boarding = you don't need, as from 189 people, 180 use it, so, where is the priority '? I use them for flights in between 50mins to 2h45, ....
for example:

as I am from LUX I could use Luxair (From LUX) or Ryanair from HHN) for a flight to TFS (4h30) ! But; why going to HHN, when you can get a mucch more comfortable flight on a Luxair 737-800WL (especially as of December, when Luxair gets their first 737-800WL with Boeing's sky interior )
= you can guess which one I'd choose, right?
