            Being based in Anchorage, Alaska for the last 4 years, and having done more North Atlantic crossings than I can count, hundreds of times. I have yet to see the australis borealis however, and I am told it is much more colorful. The pictures that I have seen especially from space are spectacular.

                  Well - the northern hemisphere version is called aurora borealis and the southern hemisphere version is called aurora australis

                        If australis borealis (Southern Northern) is not a contradiction, then I have to go back to the dictionary and check what contradiction means!
