  • Eithad Flight 470 Returns to Changi after passenger goes berzerk

A retired Australian pilot who has flown thousands of international flights said a passenger who became violent on a Singapore to Brisbane flight should have been identified as a problem at the airport and prevented from boarding.

Etihad flight 470 was forced to return to Singapore shortly after take-off when a man believed to be in his 30s ripped the TV screen out from the seat in front of him, attacked passengers and crew and had to be restrained by seven men.

        Yes, seriously.
Several passengers reported evidence of psychotic behaviour before boarding yet nothing was done. The captain should have been advised and the passenger should have undergone assessment by a doctor.
.....But that would cause a delayed aircraft departure.....and we can't have that, can we ?
The airline will now get away with "We met our service targets by departing on schedule ...........but unfortunately had to go back to Singapore because we let a nutter on board that we already knew about before we left"
If it 'ain't broken........ Don't try to mend it !
