Default Falcon 20 down at Le Castelet airport (LFMQ), south of France

A Gulfstream IV (initially meant to be Dassault Aviation Falcon 20) registered in the U.S. crashed today July 12th around 13:20Z, while attempting an emergency landing at Le Castel (LFMQ).

The aircraft caught fire on airport ground, close to runway threshold.

All three crew members are deceased : two males, aged 24 and 61 (captain & pilot), and one female, aged 30 (flight attendant), all of them U.S. citizens. Condoleances.

There were no other people on board.

The aircraft had taken off from Nice Cote d'Azur, (LFMN) and attempted to land at Le Castelet, 65 NM away, after reporting in-flight emergency.

Default

Aircraft is N823GA owned by Universal Jet Aviation, Boca Raton, FL.

P.S. Maybe should the moderator edit the title of the thread (Gulfstream G-IV down instead of Falcon 20), and merge with thread open by Deadstick at 9:42PM.
