United now runs a 3-class 777 on SFO-LAX every morning, one way only, it continues on to PVG. I'm going to try and go down on a day with open first class and do some spotting. Also planning on trying first class on a Premium Service 757 SFO-JFK before they go away, then doing JFK-YVR on a Cathay 773 that gets in at 1am, spending the night, hanging out at the new observation deck at the South Terminal, then going back to SFO on an Air Canada E190. 2 new airlines on the 2nd trip, will be exciting.

Next flight is 16/12 on Lufthansa from Doha to Frankfurt.

Previous flight was on a Qatar Aiways 787 from Dubai to Doha a couple of days ago.

I was on A7-BCB QR117 dep 16:55 - flight time approx 40 minutes to Doha.

Aircraft is very quiet, seats comfortable with reasonable leg room. Layout is 3 - 3 - 3. Overhead bins very large but a shorter person may have trouble closing if heavy.
Windows are bigger than on other aircraft making for better views. No window blinds are installed instead there is a switch that darkens / lightens window although they do no go completely black. Also wonder if they will last the rigours of flying.

Inflight info is excellent - easy to use with a good sized touch screen. WiFi is available and Ipods / Pads can be connected. Good range of programes / TV to watch

Qatar crew were attentive and friendly although the landing was a little hard but as the aircraft is still very new it will take getting used to.
