How they could do that take so long for? I don't know how they work that way. How long it take back up diskette or magnetic tapes to the server? Why it take more than a week? What is this NAS drive for? Is this 1 MB per hour or 1 GB per day or what?? How fast speed take diskette into server? It doesn't make any sense tooooooo long time.

Ahh The NAS(Network Attached Storage) drive is the server storage. It is basically a computer in a sense. It has its own processor, memory, operating system, and hard drives. What the NAS does is allow for everything but applications to removed from the server, thus allowing the server to do its job more efficiently.
In AVSIM's case, the NAS Disk system didn't come back when the library was rebooted nothing can be accessed from the library. They are for the most part dealing with "computer issues" now. Not library issues. Also it appears that some remnants of the hack job that was done awhile back that crashed AVSIM earlier this year is still present, which they are also dealing with.
One has to remember AVSIM is VOLUNTEER staff. Family and real jobs take priority to your whining.
