Unruly Passenger, 81 and Blind, Causes 14-Hour Emergency Landing
Does there seem to be a trend of many more "disrupted" flights-- by psgrs + crew. (Or are we just hearing about it more?)

so, once again the bullshit continues. my only problems with this are as follows:
1. 2 hour tarmac delay with no a/c, no water, and no food? seriously? at 4 a.m. they had to wait for 2 hours for a gate? horseshit!
2. why not get a crew enroute from FLL sooner?

When you are the cheapest thing in the air, you need to be prepared for the detritus of society. They should have tranquilizer guns as standard equipment. Straightjackets. Nets. Maybe a rubber room in the back. I'm sorry but being the Greyhound of the sky comes with a certain reality. When you are a flying dive dive bar, you need a bouncer. They shouldn't have had to divert for this. This should have been manageable.
Of course, once diverted to an unfriendly airport, it's all a foregone conclusion.
As the man said, you get what you pay for (if you're lucky).

I feel like I just flew on Spirit Air after clicking on that ABC News link. Auto start videos, pop-up ads, cookies, trojans , GMA promos, Stephanofonis' mug shot, overfilled bathroom aroma, ...
My laptop feels violated.

Not that I'm justifying anything... But it would seem that if you have to land somewhere you don't have gates or support services, it inevitably turns into a mess.
Couple that with flight crew not being able to continue the flight, and the A/C has to remain, it's an even bigger mess.
Just sayin' I would be quite bent out of shape as well, but I can see how it would practically go really inconvenient, really fast.

i'm not saying it isn't a mess. what I AM saying is that a 2 hour delay to let people off of a plane at 4 friggin a.m. when there cannot possibly be an excuse of not having a gate available, is just bullshit.
once again, it evinces the industry's true lack of consideration for its raison d'etre--the passengers.

yeah, and no better to make money then trapping people on an airplane for hours on end. Brilliant, FoF, just brilliant...
