  • The 77 79...

    ...also known as the B779.

I regularly visit a private German website that is based near EDDF. The website owner writes about the end of my nickname.

But I like to write something else. According to en.wiki, my direct Boeing family successor will be a large thing:
    length - 76,5 m
    wingspan - 71,8 m
    MTOW - 775,000 lb

Ok, there are heavies that are heavier than that. But the dimensions... Where is the advantage compared to an A388?

I know why I have not (yet) upgraded to the B748i. I think my dimensions are large enough:
    length - 70,6 m
    wingspan - 64,4 m
    MTOW - 875,000 lb.
...small enough for most of the Polynesian airports. I know that since I was a guest on Kiwi Land, on board a NZ-B744 simulator.

The LH rules will be strict enough so that for the B779 only the biggest of the biggest airports will be cleared. There is a reason why I've never tried a MD-11 simulator.
Boston Logan is too small for that! Not less than 3,101 metres for a take off... And the B779?

I'll stay small and cute with my nickname, at least until 2020.
The German long haul is alive, 65 years and still kicking.

And constantly advanced, 744 and 748 /w upper and lower EICAS.
This is Lohausen International airport speaking, echo delta delta lima.
