What odds?
It's happened before.
Many times.
With multi-person crews.
Inexperienced cowboys.
Highly-experienced, regularly-trained crews using procedures and checklists to a "t".
Even happened in an ATR before.
I am STILL unable to locate that great video of a simulator drill with one pilot yelling "No, No, No!....BANG!".Les règles de l'aviation de base découragent de longues périodes de dur tirer vers le haut.

This isn't a case of pilot error, shutting down the strong engine. This is a case of a #2 engine in-flight shut down due to a fire indication followed by a compressor stall on the #1. That's not supposed to happen. But of course, there could be a common maintenance issue or it could be a case of a mechanical failure on #2 followed by a bird strike on #1 which would be just a really unlucky day.
