  • Plane Crash Movies

Does anyone else remember some or any of the fairly common plane crash movies (mostly made for TV) that were common in the 70s to the 90s? Not the Airport series of films, but movies based on real life events.

Off the top of my head, these are the ones I can remember. I even have a few of them on DVD somewhere that I converted over from VHS years ago.

    Crash (Eastern Airlines Flight 401)

    The Ghost of Flight 401

    Fire and Rain (Delta 191)

Crash Landing: The Rescue of Flight 232 aka A Thousand Heros (United 232)

Falling from the Sky: Flight 174 aka Freefall: Flight 174
    (Gimli Glider)

One of my favorite movies is "No Highway in the Sky" based a book by Neville Shute. Not based on a real crash but interesting in thay Shute worked for De Havilland, the company that build the Comet of which a few early models crashed due to fatigue.
