  • Landing a drone?

    I saw a picture of a drone with downturned stabilizers. They appeared to be inches off the ground. I can't imagine how you land one of these remotely or otherwise without dragging them on the ground before the main gear touches. Sorry I don't have a reference to post, but these were really, really close to the ground. Anyone have an explanation on landing one of these?

    From the videos I've seen, it comes in pretty flat with almost no flare.

      That's the one. I'm amazed it can be landed without damaging the tail! By someone flying it thousands of miles away yet.

        I believe most have incorporated an "auto-land" program that takes the operator out of the mix. There was a crash of one in '08 that showed what issues can arise with a user operated landing.
