  • Video of 787-9 practice flight for Paris Air Show

Sorry for the typo in the title of the thread. Of course it's a 787-9, not a 797-9

A rather relentless pull up around 0:45.

I can only assume that they were monitoring airspeed.

      I see no relentless pull-up.

      You think pitch.
      I think AoA.

My amateur eyes see an empty aircraft with minimal fuel load reaching the calculated power settings and V2 for the intended manoeuvre followed by a rapid climbout and drag reduction by retracting the gear followed by a nose pushover to achieve level flight as speed bleeds off.

        Otherwise known as.....

        HOLY SHIT !

All that was needed was a Tex Johnson style barrel roll to finish it off.
If it 'ain't broken........ Don't try to mend it !

Well. Let me welcome you to the Le Bourget Air Show 2015. I am not there this year. But...

You are the inventor of this topic. Shouldn't you be able to correct this little typo?
(try the "edit" knob of post #1, and then, change the topic?)

          78 7-8 or 78 7-9. I almost wondered how a 79 7-9 would look like...

PS: Of course, if the inventor of the topic is not present, there are men who are able to correct this. But I don't know if seahawk is awake, it's a late monday evening for us...

He did correct it. You can see that by the title just above the first post, but for some reason(I've experienced the same problem before) the other areas where the title is displayed aren't changed; it's a small bug...

Regarding the video: although I admit there is telephoto compression, it is still amazing to see what the Dreamliner(or any light twin jetliner) can do!

You are right. But I thought that I had tried something like that in the past, and that worked fine.

So, We indeed need a helping hand from EDDL... He should see it within the next 24 hours. I regret, I am not able to reach him by phone.
If he's too busy, I'll leave him a message this wednesday.

A short glimpse on the clock: 0034 CEST, and tuesday already.

Concerning the video: Yes, all those brandnew Boeings are amazing. Especially the 78 7-8 is a very nice new baby. Small enough so that we can have... a lot of them here at EDDL, simultaneously.
And strong enough so that the Japanese reach us nonstop.

                Happy now ? By the way....it's a 787-8, not a 78 7-8! ;

And I can guess why you can't reach Seahawk on the phone !

The title of the post is one thing and the title of the thread is another.

When you create a new thread, the title of your original post defines the title of the thread. However, subsequent edits of the title of that first post will only change that: the title of the post, without affecting the title of the thread.

I found my typo soon after posting the thread and corrected the post (that's why you see that the title of the post is correct, and there is an errata explanation at the beginning of the post), but the title of the thread remained as it was, with the typo.

Only moderators can change the title of a thread (which Brian just did, thank you Brian).

New video of the same flight released.
Now full length and 3 different cameras that can be selected in real time.

                    Very nice!
