This has been a rumor for sometime now, but starting in Jan? I think we would have heard something by now. Isn't there a process before an airline can start flying into a new airport?

Heard from a very reliable source I work with that jetBlue will be starting JFK-ORD service in late January. They will be using gates at ORD's Terminal 2 altough I'm not sure which Concourse they will be on, mostly likely the E Concourse. Great news for Chicago. Let's see the line-up for new airlines at ORD in '03:

jetBlue
Emirates
Qantas
Pakistan

Looking good.... clap.gif

Uhh I dont think JetBlue will fly JFK-ORD I just dont see it happening. AFAIK Emirates announced SFO instead of ORD for the time being....I dont know when PIA is starting in 2003, Qantas starts in March 3x weekly MEL-LAX-ORD via 747-400ER

We just got TACA though, and it comes in at 1am lol

January is what I heard, altough I was a bit surprised also that nothings been mentioned officialy. However sources at jetBlue have been saying they were aiming for ORD since last year, and an airport consultant has said jetBlue will for sure be at ORD. I'm sure the press release will come soon though if it is indeed January.

At least not in January! We usually get a few months advance notice when a carrier inaugurates service to a new city. I would also suspect carriers – especially one as great as B6 would like to have the flights marketed, advertised a few months out!

IF Suppose IF they were going to start in January...where the hell would they move in? Everything is packed...including T2

I bet they would have better competition flying to Midway because Southwest flies there, unless they DON'T want to compete with SWA. They may be better of flying to St. Louis, not as crowded yet we have alot of passengers fly through.

All I will say is don't count ORD out of the jetBlue system.

I would love it if JetBlue went to IND sometime soon. I live in the Central IL area, about 5 hours from ORD and 4 hours from IND. I havent been able to fly JetBlue, simply because JB doesnt come near here yet.

I'd love to see jetBlue come into the Louisville market.

It makes a lot of sense for them .. nearly 15% of total traffic out of Louisville is NYC-bound, and right now, we are very underserved (a couple CO ERJs to EWR, 3 US ERJs to LGA, no non-stop service to JFK).

I just went through the ordeal of trying to find my mom a non-stop flight into New York, and everything is oversold.

Yeah I am sure that there are a lot of people that would like have jetBlue or even Southwest in their market. The only thing we can do is sit and wait to see what happens.
