If you ask a Japanese person about A N A he/she will likely give you a strange - Huh?
All Nippon Airways is Zenniku in Japanese.
Zen for ZENbu (All), NI for Nippon, Ku for KoKU (Airline).
A real A to Z airline.

They call it "ANA" (a-na) in English.

Trying telling a taxi driver you want to go to the A-na hotel.
I lived in Tokyo many years. Zenniku, they know.

On second thought you may be right. I never asked them in English. Sometimes they would see my foreign face and just KNOW I was not speaking Japanese until I told them I was. :)

Pretty logical when read from other angles and perspective. More seriously, I take not of the tip.
