ATD: 8:47
RWY 34L
Flight time: 2hrs 5mins.
Arrived at about 6:40 (the bloke dropping us off was going into the city and offered to take us so I didn't complain about the time). We used the Qantas Club check-in line because I didn't feel like waiting in the other line and there was no-one in the Qantas club line. The bloke knew I wasn't a QC member but was a good sport about it and checked us in. It was funny that both in SYD and TSV the QF people checking me in saw the Virgin fragile stickers on my computer box and made derogatory comments about them and then put extra QF stickers over top of them.
Asked for a jumpseat ride as i boarded, but was denied because of company policy (I knew that would be the response but thought it wouldn't hurt to ask anyway.) Pushed back almost on time and then taxiied to 34L. The plane was only about half full so I was surprised that we used 34L. Rotated very early, which helped me get a good pic of the Int. terminal. Headed out to Richmond before turning north and climbing up to FL350 for the cruise. I don't know the exact route but I think it was over inland NSW and QLD.
We were served the standard QFLink boxed brekky which was pretty good. A little while later tea and coffee made the rounds. We enjoyed clear skies all the way up until the top of our descent into TSV where there was scattered low level cloud. We encountered little if any turbulencefor the entire flight. Captain Paul Andrews put us down beautifully and had us to the gate on time- my first time in TSV since the opening of the new upgraded terminal area. It became clear that the personnel weren't trained in aerobridge driving. He pulled it up to the door but couldn't get it straight or the right height and ended up just giving up and pulling back out of the way and resorting back to the old airstairs!

Said goodbye to my wife (who is returning at the time we had originally planned to before I had to buy a different one to come back early for work), checked in and headed up to the new departure area. Boarded on time and was surprised to see that the aircraft was less than half full. Took off on RWY01, headed out over Magnetic Island before turning right to head down the coast. Climbed up to FL410 for the short 1hr 26min flight. I sat back and switched back and forth between listening to the cricket on the ABC and the audio for the episode of "Kath and Kim" that was playing. We were given an afternoon snack not long after levelling off. Enjoyed a beautiful, smooth, quiet cruise all the way to BNE. The captain informed us at the top of our descent that we would be performing a "River" approach bringing us over the Brisbane river and the CBD on our base leg before turning final. Captain Yarrow performed a flawless landing and had us to the gate 5 minutes ahead of schedule. I stopped in to the flight deck on the way out and had a chat to captain Yarrow and F/O Shears who were fairly young, amicable blokes.

I was a little surprised with this being a CityFlyer flight that it was at the most 2/3 full- I guess I was expecting it to be packed. Anyway, we took off to the north, hung a big right hander and then began our climb up to FL380 for the cruise. Our route was to be over Beaudesert, east of Armidale, over the Hunter Valley and on to SYD. We were served a "meal" (only large enough to be considered a meal if you are a sparrow!) and drinks not long after takeoff. Descended into a very cloudy SYD which only became visible on final approach for rwy 07.
Exited the aircraft and proceeded to the baggage carousel where everyone on the flight waited over 40 minutes for their luggage to appear.
Overall, I had enjoyable flights and had no problems with the QF service.
