Barranquilla-Miami, Avianca AV0002, 9:45 AM EST, Monday, January 19, 2004:

This time around, I catched a stomach infection that made my trip really insufferable, but I'll save you those details, so let's move on to the flight

I arrived to the airport at 7:45 AM, and barely had time for baggage check, check-in, emigration procedure and boarding, adding to this a trip to the bathroom (details omitted).

Flight was uneventful and rather pleasant, but traveling 48 hours after eating uncooked oysters IS NO FUN (two trips to the a/c lavatory, not recommendable, either)!!!

I tried to sleep, but I was overpowered by pain, and even wished I was traveling on the Concorde, so I could get to Miami as fast as I could.

Arrived at Miami at 12:00 EST, and staying there for 7 1/2 hours was absolutely horrible!!!

Miami-St. Louis, American Airlines AA0672, 7:30PM EST, Monday, January 2, 2004:

My stay in Miami was absolutely forgettable, my stomach infection making my day a living hell, so I felt blessed when the moment came to go to St. Louis.

I had taken by then 2 chewable tablets of Pepto-Bismol, 2 Alka-Seltzers and 4 Tylenols.

This bizarre combination brought some relief, fortunately, and the flight wasn't that bad.

I finally could get some sleep, but the medication's effect faded half an hour before landing, so that timespan was a little bit harsh.

Finally arrived to St. Louis, and now I'm back to the routine.

I'm thinking on going to Barranquilla next year, but next time around, I'll pass on the uncooked oysters.

It's very likely that it was backwards, but let Flying High clear that for us!
