Well I was looking at this site and I was searching for commercial aircraft and I noticed that this person has pictures from Jetphotos.net. Did you give permission for this person to do this?
I saw this picture from the database on there From Chris Kilroy

Here is the album from this http://community.webshots.com/album/64134283yjpLLU[/url]

Carl,
Thanks for the notice. I am in the process of contacting the person responsible and demanding that all Jetphotos.Net photos be removed at once, unless he has permission from the photographer (which I doubt, since my UPS 747 shot is there, and I didn't ever give permission).
By the way, will you be at the Chicago spotter gathering on April 12-13?

i have just sent this to the web site owners :
Copyright violation .... It has been brought to my attention that one of your members has been adding photos to his account of which he has no claim , after viewing the site for myself this indeed is the case . The member in question is Miklo1968 , the amount of images he has of mine that i could see was 4 , now i assume you are familiar with international copyright law , so i would advise you to act on this person by either removing the images or cancelling his membership . Please note blame is no way directed at you and your site but at the individual's page.
and contacted the guy direct also ... as far as i can see there were 4 of mine........ :nonono:

I also posted the following via e-mail to the site last night:
My name is Chris Kilroy, and I'm Editor and Owner of the JetPhotos.Net
website located at http://www.jetphotos.net/.
It has recently come to my attention that a user of your service has
harvested some 24 photos from our website, taken by a number of
photographers, and placed them on your service.
The offending photo album is located here:
http://community.webshots.com/album/64134283yjpLLU
This is in clear violation of U.S. and international copyright laws, and
I would like the offending material removed immediately to avoid more
serious action.
Please understand that some of us sell the rights to these photos (he
has stolen one of my photos, photo #10 in his album) for up to $500 to
$1000 US.
Thank you for your prompt attention in this matter.
Best Regards,
Chris Kilroy
Editor, JetPhotos.Net
I have a slightly :topicoff: question. Can you use the photos int he datbase as a desktop image without permission? Or on a personal webpage if the jp.net copyright bar is at the bottom and the caption indicates the photographers name? I was just wondering because I want to maintain legality of some certain sites. Thanks alot.

Personal desktop image, yes. Personal website, no.
If you're going to make copyrighted material available to others, be it for commercial or non-commercial use, you'll need to get proper permission.

I must thank them for their quick support on this matter! It's a shame more websites don't operate like this!
