View Full Version : What kind of Scanner do you use?
Since there was overwhelming success in the camera type thread I'll scope the scanners used. I currently have a Umax Astra 610S. I want a Canon LIDE 30.

Hi
When I am not shooting digital, I am scanning with an HP ScanJet 6300C.
Results are great despite it being a few years old now.

I was about to ask the same question. My uncle has about 3000+ aviation slides dated 1965-1975 (date he stopped because no more space to keep them). He is afraid the slides will rot. Which would be a nice and not too expensive scanner to scan them all? It would be nice to batch scan them if possible.
Thanks
Some brands and models are:
Canon LIDE 20
Canon LIDE 30
Epson Perfection 1660 Photo
Hewlett Packard 3530c

I use a Minolta Scna Dual II. It works good with me and my negatives. Just check some of them out for results. The recent ones are the ones I used with it. I tried to see if they have anymore at some of the camera stores in NY but it seems they don't have them. Oh well.

I use a Minolta Dimage Scan Dual II, with the VueScan program. I bought it last July, and it's served me quite well so far.

It is that good that I can easily scann prints and add to Airliners.net :D

I am using the
- Nikon CoolScan III for colour slides, and the
- Epson Perfection 2400 Photo for photos
Satisfied with both, especially the CoolScan.

I use the Epson 2450 which seems to work very well. All of my photos are scanned using that. I don't even know how to use a digital camera!!
