Just saw this post on Flertalk's AA forum.
...Noticed they were handing out Midnight Snacks (you know, the 2 bite Turkey Sandwich and the grapes **WITH PITS**)! Well, Granny walked near me with what I saw was a collection of the trash, so I waived and I said "Hello! I just woke up, may I have a Midnight Snack?"
She then saw one inside her JUNK BIN, closed it and said "Here is your Midnight Snack.". I opened it and the sandwich was okay, but the grapes were EATEN and spitted out! Disgusting!
When she came back, from collecting the garbage in coach, she smiled and tried to walk fast past me and I said "Look, you've GOT to come here." I showed her and said "You gave me a *used* Midnight Snack". She appologized and said "I didn't know it was used." and left...
When did AA gone "BAD"?
This is why I bring my own food.

 Airline food has always been (well, atleast in my lifetime, which isn't very long) gross, and most unappetizing. I figure they might as well do away with it on domestic flights. But, they need to keep it for international flights, because without atleast a little food, it would become a nightmare to fly overseas.

I know this may be a little off topic, but it brings to mind a really funny incident. My friend once came and told me that while travelling on Cathay Pacific, he was "starved", that he was given no food at all, and when he asked for a chocolate bar, even that was refused. Mind you, it was a long haul flight (Hong Kong-London). I personally don't believe this incident, having flown by cathay numerous times.
As for the american airlines incident, i think its just a rumour, because think about it, why on earth would an airline serve its pax used food on purpose?????!!! :skeptic:

Maybe this is just a crazy urban legend (http://www.hackstadt.com/features/whale/). :smilewin:
I usually don't go on airplanes to eat (http://www.airlinemeals.net), but things like this make me just.....

LOL, LAAnce!
No compAAny cars for AA - I've seen you AMC pix - you are a 5* dealer, correct? I NEED a D1500 Ram Super Cab (Not loaded, just well equipped).
BTW - My cousin works A300 ops out of JFK for the double A as capt. I should not bad mouth them as much as I do.

I would like too sell you one, but I'm in GrAAnts PAAss, Oregon and you are in Houston, TexAAs! The cost to get the truck to TexAAs does not justify buying from a dealer 2,000 miles away. I don't think AA will let you tAAke a 1/2 truck on boAArd AAs AA cAArry on. AAlso getting the truck through security would be a pAAin! You know the metAAl detector?

I'm sure it's just an honest mistake. Let's just hope that this trend doesn't continue or AA could be joining UA.
Hey Indian Airlines, your friend who claimed he was starved on a Cathay flight is a moron. I've flown Cathay numerous times and it is one of the best airlines ever. I've always been fed on a Cathay flight, even if it's only a two-hour one. Maybe your friend was asleep when they were serving food. Forgive me when I say I think your friend is a blundering idiot. HKG-LHR without food on CX? Yeah, and pigs can fly!!!

Sorry, actually Indian Airlines and I are friends and we go to the same school. We both know this guy who supposedly wasn't fed on a CX flight and we've both heard his false story. Indian Airlines can verify that.
wow AA  Shocking!?!

I've been flying on US majors for 47 years now and have never heard of anyone ever being served trash in that manner before. I have to wonder if the guy who got the used meal was playing grabass with the flight attendant earlier in the flight or just being either rude or obnoxious or both earlier on. I could see something like that as a form of FA payback to such a passenger. It's always the rude passengers who are the first to complain when they get their own back at them too. Kind of makes one wish we could hear the FA's side of the story.

Doubted its a rumour, since its a "mini trip report" from Flyertalk's AA forum.
Judging from the quality from Flyertalk, its unlikely to be a rumour.

I agree with the Freightdogg -
This was probably a GROSS mistake (pun fully intended) or a retaliation of some sort due to horrible harassment from pax toward F/A.
Neither one is acceptable.
