ok i am taking the other scanner back, what about the VR-120D, does anyone know, is this a good scanner? i heard it was. i am really seriously thinking of getting this, any info will be good. how far is the range? i need at least 20 miles. thanks

The VR-120D is a very good scanner, the only drawback being that there isn't a keypad. You have to tune the frequencies, you can't just punch them in.

Dude why dont you just go for the $99 PRO-83? It has a num pad, its easy to use, and it works great.
