:shock: I am experiencing a major problem with 2004/ FS9!! For some reason there are very large areas of Ground scenery that are just not there! I was descending in to LPPT and I would say that only 45% of the ground textures were there! :( And the ones that were there are blocks and it looks ridiculous! :roll: I read in the "Read me" file that my video card (RAdeon 8500) has a problem with not-displaying-various-textures BUT I would consider this more like not displaying 'most' of the textures! Some areas are fine, but any Downtown or city appears grey with no texture, and mountain areas are spotted with textures! Can anyone HELP ME with this problem? Thanks!!! (And I have checked the priority list, and it seems proper!....I have also updated to the more recent DRIVERS!) Hopefully a patch will come out soon!

Hi i saw something about this on Avsim you need to change your FS9.cfg which is located in Documents and settings > username > Application data > Microsoft > FS9 > FS9.cfg and change the following lines. Make sure you backup this file first.
TERRAIN_DEFAULT_RADIUS=9.500000
TERRAIN_EXTENDED_RADIUS=4.50000
I've tried this and it works i think but my computer is hardly worthy for FS9. Its time for alienware. http://www.alienware.com

Thanks for taking the time to reply :nod: "G-MIDY"!!! I will try this and hopefully it works!!! It currently is quite a shame that a simulator with such beautiful sunsets and clouds has a ground scenery problem!!!

I tried the change, and it didn't work!!! There seems to be a major problem with my ATI Radeon 8500!!! The water looks like glass for some reason, it has the reflection but looks like it isn't moving!!! Aswell, I can see right through it. At night it looks like the stars are reflecting off of the water, but it is actually the stars that are currently under the horizon! During the day you can't tell where the sky meets the water unless you have clouds on! The ground scenery in Europe is horrific, in some sections it resembles FS4 (yeah the old one). Is this the effect your Radeon 8500 produces??? I think a PATCH is needed!!! :x :x :x :x I will get images to show you all a little later!
