An experienced rescue helicopter pilot and two other people have died after a light plane and a helicopter collided in mid-air above Paraparaumu, north of Wellington.

Very tragic event. Condolences to all the families.

Unfortunetly events like this tend to have a negative impact on all of us in the aviation community. Can see this as providing more ammo for all those who complain about living close to airports (the anti Whenuapai crowd, people who bought houses near Ardmore etc).
