It is illegal to take those, so I won't. Therefore, I really have no business posting in this thread. :P

Calm down ansett.
On US Airways the cards have been taken in some seats and there is nothing telling you not to. On AirTran the cards explicitly say "Do not remove" so i didn't.
My father gave me Saudia A300 Safety card in 1995 after a flight from Africa.
But ths First safety card I stole :D my self was Egypt Air A340 on a flight from LHR to Cairo in 17/10/1998.
I always feel shmae to take Safety Cards 8)

My first safety was a USAir 732 safety that my teacher back in elementary school graciously got for me way back in'85 knowing how much I love flying. Unfortunately, I lost it LONG ago, but the legacy lives on at a minimum.

First one I acquired before making a collection was a Legend Airlines DC-9 card. My sister swiped a row from an Air Canada '67 and handed some off to me.
The Air Canada ones do not have any writing on them about leaving them on the aircraft. And Legend went bankrupt, so I'm not too upset. As for the other undred in the collection :shakehea:
I don't feel bad, I know somebody who swiped an entire aircraft technical log [blank of course] when he worked at maintenance.

One flight, the seatback (in this case, bulkhead-back) pockets had 5 safety cards stuffed in each of them, so I took one.

Adam you need to chill out. All the airlines i've been on don't care if I take the safety card. On jetBlue I was caught grabbing a safety card. I was given more safety cards for my troubles. Hence my theory of doubting that they actually care.

AeroRepública Colombia DC-9-30
AeroRepública DC-9-80 (MD-80)

My first one was a Boeing 737-400 of Air Berlin. I myself took her away...
I thinke there is a difference between Please do not remove from aircraft than It isn't allowed to take the life-vests from aircraft.
So I think stealing safeties is "allowed"...

Exactly, it's not like it says do not remove from aircraft under penalty of law
BTW, what ever happens if you remove the do not remove label from a matress?

To me safety taking safety cards is pointless. They only thing i take from my flights is pictures, memories and pretzles :D. And the safetly cards are usually full of buggers, food, dried soda and all kinds of nasty brown spots /hings....yuck :x
But in anycase how did you get caught taking a safety card? Just sick it in your carryon and zip it up.

Well it's the collectors spirit, I mean, I see no point on collecting stamps even if they're old and stuff, but the stamp collectors see the point and love, so do we the ones who collect safety cards.
(And I also collect tickets, sick bags, boarding passes and everything alike).

"You'll never be a true aviation enthusiast if you don't keep a stash of safety cards..."
Several years ago, my grandpa contributed a Northwest DC-9 safety card, and therefore I have been snatching them since.
