I hate to say it but the fact that people actually keep those logs is SAD.
Anyways, you a senior in high school this year? Definitely going to Riddle? What is your major going to be?

what a contraversial way to start a conversation......if you think its sad, my suggestion is dont read "Flight Reviews" A duh....

Sorry I was just stating my opinion. I just see no point in it honestly. Just seems a little weird. IE it's almost as bad as going to the airport JUST to look at tail numbers

Let me ask you something. How old are you?
I'm sure you have a LOT better things to do with your time then record every little detail about a flight you went on. Who cares what kind of engine the plane had or what fare class you bought your ticket in? And I think the pilots should be the ones worrying about what runway you're landing on. Its not like you're going to run up in an emergency and help them out.
Do you take flying lessons? If you dont, I can see where much of this comes from. But once you know something about the airline industry, none of this stuff matters. It's all about weather, planning, and flying the airplane in a safe and efficient manner, none of which you seem to care about.

Calm down. A lot of people like to record what kind of aircraft theyve flown on and other details. Its part of being an aviation enthusiast. If he wants to do it, let him do it. Hes not a pilot, so he doesnt have to worry about the weather, fuel, etc. it doesnt take much time to do; get the tail number and punch it into a database and pull up the details.

Oh my God you've made a form for keeping track of your flights! I thought I was bad for scribbling the N-number on a napkin, back in the days before I actually flew.
Here's a suggestion, go ahead and shred all of that stuff now. Look at it this way: After you're done with Riddle and flying as a hot shot Airline or corporate pilot, are you really going to care to know at which gate you arrived or what seat you sat in years earlier as a pax?
I'd seriously worry about someone finding that stuff and thinking you're nuts. You have a checkbox for "Emergency Landing w/ Evacuation" for Christ's sake.

Just trying to help dude! Thanks for telling me to "f-off". Funny thing, this article about your generation was on the top of Yahoo! this morning:

Mike, I 100% agree with you. This is exactly what I was getting at. BTW, jetbluekid, I think you should grow up a little. Sending PM's titled "Hey A-Hole" and then proceeding to call me a scumbag shows a lot of class.
Jetbluekid, I take it your not going to post any more scans are you....
I personally don't care, let him do what he wants, and if he wants to post them, go right ahead. It's not like he's at your front door letting all the heat out trying to sell you chocolate covered almonds for the special olympics.

Wow. Leave him alone you guys. MANY of us here on this site record the tail numbers and what not, some of us like to record a little more(Hell, look at Alan's reports!) Nothing wrong with that. I think its a good idea that he came up with this so he has all the information to look back on. Who cares weither you think its stupid or not? THIS JUST IN! Most of the world looks at all of us as "Weirdos" as we stand around the airport taking photos, and they also think our hobby is "stupid". Does that stop us? No. How would you feel if they came into this fourm and started bashing us?
VERY, VERY, VERY rarely do I come across a positive response when people walk in my room and find boxes upon boxes of airliner slides I've taken, Model planes on every surface, a joystick, rudder pedals, and throttle surrounding my computer, posters of aircraft and cockpits, and an ocean of aviation books and magazines. I'm an enthusiast, and nothing anyone can say will ever change this.
Real mature bashing the poor guy, he showed a lot more maturity than all of you by standing up for his hobby and enduring all the cyber-bullying you guys dished out to him. How old are we, 6?
Steve, I am sure he'd laugh at a lot of things you do.
Mike, I collect every peice of memoribillia I can get my hands on, and twice a year I go to an airliner show which is full of hundreds of people who do the same. And yes, when I'm an adult I will cherish this stuff even more so! And I'll bet Jetbluekid will too.
I for one like the whole idea and he is going to e-mail me some coppies, I think its a great idea and wish I had some from the 90s to remember all those times I flew on DC-10s, 727s, 732s and what not. I must have flown on 50 some aircraft in the 90s and don't even know the reg/flight#s of all but a handfull of them. And I don't care if you think thats stupid either.

You know, none of that stuff wierds me out. Keeping track of reg numbers and keeping a log of flights doesn't wierd me out either. Look of some of my own flight reviews on here or my old ones on A.net. Collecting timetables, models, etc. that's cool. I've done that.
What does have me wierded out is that some of the things on the form are outright bizarre. Example: a place to check a box if the plane has an emergency landing AND there's another place to check a box if the plane has an emergency landing with an evacuation. I mean, heck, how often are those going to happen? Wouldn't you remember if they did? There's a place for him to check a box if he sits in the cockpit jumpseat!

Ok what is wrong with you guys? Seriously?
I happen to love this stuff, this is WHY we post at jetphotos.net. If you don't care to learn the aircraft, airline and registerations, then why are you here posting? Seriously again.
Mike- great post, and pics, and good information, this saves a lot of questions and I know when I get older it'd be nice to look back and check it out.

Ironically, The evacuation check box came in handy in IND where one of my customers had his flight log and walked off teh WN FLight...and he was sitting in the cabin jumpseat....most of the information isnt for me...i ask my customers what they want, and then i sell it to them. I started out with A very basic form with teh airline, departure, arrival and aircraft....then as word of mouth spread people contacted me and the more detailed stuff got thrown in for diffrent people...I.e., iu have a pilot from Freedom air who get a few, and he wanted the cockpit jumpseat, i just use the form for my own flights obviously hoping to god i never have to slide down the slides unless in training...The Continental code is for my ex who logged flights based on the bid packet code..It will take to long to identify each piece of informtaion but the finaly statment is that every piece of information isnt used by everyone who purchases the logs, but it isnt $$$ effienct and a waste of paper to make each peron's diffrent...also Expressjet person, im sorry to tell you to f-off, i blew my cool...under alot of stress from loosing a relationship and a family member all in the same time frame and i felt ganged up on for a stupid reason....

See, here you go again. Calling me a jerk now, a-hole before. This needs to stop. It's done and over with. My opinion is out there (including the fact that people ACTUALLY buy this crap).
But lets just start over.
I'll ask my initial question again. Are you definitely going to Riddle in the Fall? Studying Aero Sci? You planning on flying?

I'm sure we will see each other.......and still with the insults towards something, im sorry you need to put people down to make yourself feel better...Its not nice and hurtful

Seriously I think i just watched a 5th grade fight play out on the internet.
Who gives a flying **** what he does with his time. If he wants to put a box for "got laid if aft Lav" and one for the Front lav that is his damn business.
As each of you progress in your aviation career don't forget where you came from. It will definetly give you prosepctive.

At least when he gets to riddle they wont have to worry about him not filling out his nav logs :-P
You workin yet or still on paid vacation? Today I recieved an email from bob that had an official offer of employment. Hello 2$ an hour raise, goodbye crappy management :-) Gracias for putting me in touch with proflight, even if I screwed up the first time by going to work for somebody else.

Jetbluekid, don't let what they say get to you. If that's something you enjoy doing keep it up. Crism, I have never had a problem with you or any of your posts but don't you think you were a little hard on him? If someone has a hobby and does something different to keep track of it what's the big deal? Some people build models of planes they have been on, others keep a log of information like he does. Just because you it's not something you would do let someone else do it. Damned if you do damned if you don't. Keep up the good work, and happy flying!
