I am new to this idea of uploading photos for all to see and could do with some advice, (apart from don't give up the day job).

When I view an image on my PC I find that it tends to be of slightly better quality than the downloaded version from the web. I have had three photos accepted so far (out of five submitted) and would like to know what can be done to make sure the submitted photo is produced to suit the web site's systems in order to produce the best image.

I use an LCD screen, if that helps.

Sorry if this sounds basic but positive comment would be appreciated.

Thanks

Hi!
If youre using photoshop, be sure to set your color space to sRGB. Theres also an option for proofing the images in various modes, like mac/pc/monitor.

Firstly, always upload at 1024px width so the script doesnt have to resize. Secondly, while working on your image, keep saving copies as jpgs, and open those up in Internet Explorer. That way youll se the differences between IE and photoshop and you can tweak the image until it strikes your liking in Explorer.

Good luck.
