ATR-42 and ATR-72
Continental Express used this type many times to take me to Portland, Maine (Before WN pulled into Manchester, NH, thus creating a better way to PWM). Seating is not that comfortable (being 6’3”) but easier to move around in than a JungleJet (ERJ). Easy to spot, as it is quite an odd looking bird. Distinct sounding as well. I believe COEX is going all jet buy the first of the year.
I was on a COEX ATR-42 a few weeks ago – probably my last time. Saw Eagle’s 500th ATR at Houston Hobby a long time ago.

I gotta go with Tomas on this one, Dash-8-100! images/smiles/icon_smile.gif
Great airplane.
For this area of the world with mixed loads of passengers and cargo in all kinds of weather conditions on big and small airports, you can't beat a Dash-8.
On paper the ATR can take a heavier load but there is no where on the aircraft to put it. If you have a piece of cargo on a pallet you'll be trucking it to the destination unless you have a Dash.

The Fairchild Metro and the Embraer EMB-120 Brasilia.
The Metro because its noisy as hell and fun to fly on. Your head is like this in turbulence: nod.gif heheheh
The EMB-120 because they now serve my "home" airport clap.gif
...Serge
BAe 146 (as long as all 4 underwing APUs are running).
Would love to try the 328Jet (has a lot of problems though).
And once the A380 is in service my favourite commuter aircraft will be the A330-200 images/smiles/icon_biggrin.gif .

No doubt - the Dash 8-100

lol...I wouldn't really consider a CRJ a commuter plane, it makes a lot of long flights as well. I flew on the 328JET on a hop from CVG to DAY and that's more of a commuter route.

ERJ all the way. Fast, smooth, comfortable, and reliable. Roomy cabin, and the fact that they are accessible to normal jetways makes them that much nicer.

Mine is the Saab 2000. It's fast, it's quiet inside, and it has those unique single seats on port side. 5A is my favourite, right next to the spin.

Since I live in Southern Oregon the Medford airport or MFR is the nearest airport for me. I only have two choices.
The Skywest EMB-120
The Horizon Dash 8
My favorite? My car. United wants $572 to fly to San Francisco and Horizon wants $628 to fly to Seattle. Both San Francisco and Seattle are a five hour drive from Medford. images/smiles/icon_confused.gif
Sorry for the crying, but American Airlines for long trips and Southwest for short trips.

My short list of winners:
1) DH8 Q-400 (fast and amazingly quiet for a turboprop)
2) Dornier 328 (fast and comfortable though I haven't seen these around on the west coast for quite a while)
3) BAe 146/Avro RJ (because it's just so crazy to have FOUR jets on a regional airliner - it looks like a miniature C17!)
My short list of losers:
1) Embraer Brazilia -EMB 120 (very cramped, narrow and loud)
2) Fairchild Metro (so skinny it feels like you're in a flying culvert)
3) Dornier 328Jet (I've never flown on one, but it just looks so ugly I have to put it on this list...)
Avianca 757

Agree with the DO-328 jet
The not jet version of the 328 is really nice (it's my fav) but the other...well...

I'd go with the Dornier 328J, but the company is falling apart so my vote is the ERJ-145. Gotta love the taco tubes

Has to be the Sabb340. Classic Prop
The BAe 146. Flown it all over Canada and Europe, its great not withstanding the hydrolic fluid smell from time to time.

My vote goes to the pencil-jet (EMB-145). Nice looking airplane and flys very nice. Very well layed out cockpit and gotta love those control yokes. My second choice would be the EMB-120.
