60's- "The best way to fly away, TWA's the way"
50's- "Up Up and away with TWA"

I was working for the Double A at the time they gobbled up TWA. I was given a ball cap with both AA and TWA logos. Here is what it said:

AA and TWA: Two Great LEGENDS, One Great Airline

This was within several months of Love based LEGEND ceasing operations - The AMERICAN Dream! This was right after the USD $75.00 Change Fee on discount tickets went to $90.00 for a day then up to a cool $100.00. I modified our great saying:

Two Great Legends, One Great big Change Fee.

Well, maybe this would be funny if you understood our tariff department and their waiver (or non-waiver) policy.

A joke about slogans:

Overheard recently at a Northwest staff party:

You've probably heard USAir's new slogan "USAir begins with YOU."

Well, ours should be "Northwest begins with NO!"

Another one:

In light of the recent arrest of 58 American Airlines employees for drug and weapons smuggling, here is a top ten list of new American Airlines slogans.

10) Fly Higher.

9) We're the Official Airline of the Cali Cartel.

8) We now serve one more type of coke.

7) Try our new coffee flavor: Heroin Hazelnut.

6) Our overhead bins can hold most firearms.

5) Ship 110 pounds of cocaine, pay for only 100.

4) If you have to wait on line, we'll give you a line.

3) Use your frequent flyer miles to post bail.

2) Meet our new spokesman, George W. Bush.

1) All our flights are smoking flights!

A couple of old ones:

"BOAC takes good care of you!" (I recall this one being played every morning on CJAD Montreal when we lived there in the late 1960s)

"From the sunrise in the east, to the sunset in the west, We're American Airlines, doing what we do best" (This was a radio jingle, also "Doing what we do best" was also used in printed ads-I remember these in the mid 1970s in Toronto)

indian airlines
04-19-2003, 02:16 PM
Its quite common for more than one airline to have the same slogan. I think two or three airlines have the slogan, "your home in the skies".

Air India calls itself the "Maharaja", but i don't think they have a slogan perse

CRap..I totally forgot what I was gonna say..... :x

thinking.............................

Oh yeah!!! :P For Southwest Airlines, while you may not consider them slogans, they are catchy, and you can't forget them..

"Nobody's going to Shoot Southwest Airlines out of the sky for a lousy $13."

"Weve been telling corny jokes for 25 years, and so far no has gotten up and left"

"Can you name the airline with LOW FARES, on EVERY SEAT, of EVERY FLIGHT, EVERYWHERE it flies?--Southwest-THE low fare airline"

"Southwest and other airlines have a LOVE/HATE relationship.
They HATE the way we've lowered airfares, but they'd LOVE to have you think it was their idea."

"Still NUTS after all these years"

"Work at a place where wearing pants is optional"

"The all-time on-time-airline"

"How do we LUV you? Let us count the ways"

"We're spreading love, all over texas."

"Stop searching, Start clicking"

"We would love to match the other airlines low fares, but ti would mean we would have to raise our fares-Just plane smart"
Side Note:Somehow this doesn't become true anymore, I honestly HAVE seen other airlines have lower Fares then SWA does.

OK, thats enough from me.

I seem to recall that TAA (Trans Australia Airlines) might have been "TAA - The Friendly Way".

Australian Airlines (the former domestic airline, not the new l/c international carrier) was "You should see us now".

If anyone knows any different, do correct me...

And (of great embarassment) I can't remember the slogans of my favourite airline, Ansett. Anyone?
