Thinking/evaluating the C-17 CargoMaster III ..
US defence firm Boeing Co is hoping for sales to Australia, Sweden and Norway as it tries to keep production of the large C-17 transport plane open beyond April 2008, Boeing executives say.
Sams said Sweden's interest in having more military transport planes was boosted by the Asian tsunami, when Stockholm found it needed the capacity to help Swedish nationals caught in the disaster.
Sams said Australia was interested in four of the planes, which have a list price of $US220 million ($A299.16 million). Norway is also interested in four and Sweden in two, he said.
