All my photos were proudly rejected from airliners.net! But, who cares?
I do not care about that, since I am into plane spotting just for pure fun!
The main reasons, for which I am uploading photos here, are:
1) To share my passion for both aviation and photography with fellow photographers all over the world;
2) Help building something new, open to everyone, no matter what level (beginner, advanced…)
3) Help Keeping this site this way!
Overall: I think jetphotos rocks!

Greetings,
I am also switching to j.net, and mainly for the reason Bruno stated before. For Fun!! I think there are spotters all around the world which have great pictures that show something interesting and/or unique, who can just post their pictures here without expecting to get a badscan/badmotiv message, but the rest of the spotter community would enjoy seeing them.
There are tastes for everyone, and it should be each spotter who decides badmotiv. A correct badmotiv would be anything not aircraft related. Some people like Picasso, and some Renoir. But both are hanging side by side in most museums. I recently got accepted this pic (http://www.airliners.net/open.file/312235/M/) in the other site, but got rejected this pic (http://www.jetphotos.net/viewphoto.php?id=26470) for badscan. Personally, I think both have "almost" the same quality, but I think the second pic has a better motiv than the first one. Does this mean one screener likes it more than another scanner and gets accepted? Does it mean 4, 5 or even 10 screeners have the better sense of beauty than the rest of the spotter community? a.net is the right to accept whatever pics they want, as I have the right to choose what site I visit the most.
Although I have switched, I regularly (not as half has much as I used to) see the other site and other aviation related sites, just because I love spotting. I noticed on the other site, it keeps the same types of pictures, same camera angles, same motiv, not like j.net, where I can see unusual/unique things.
This does not mean we should not care for quality. We all should keep a one very important thing in mind.
We should upload the best quality you can achieve, unless the pic involves something very out of the ordinary. The moment should always weigh more than a badscan, keeping certain limits. How many times will we see this happened? Just tell the pilot do it again so you can get a better shot at it. But also, overdoing picture manipulation kills photography skills and rewards computer skills.
Not everyone in the spotter community can spend thousands of dollars in getting the equipment necessary to become professional photographer, which seems to be the requirement on a.net. The camera does not make the photographer. Take a look at the Kodak Site (http://www.kodak.co.ae/global/en/consumer/pictureTaking/index.shtml). It covers (because it’s a Kodak site) using the best equipment to take pictures as an end product, but it focuses more on composition, lighting, etc as photographing skills. Take a look also at Photographers Hall of Fame (http://www.photo-seminars.com/fame.htm). None of them had a Nikon D1-x or Canon EOS 1Ds.
I could write a book on this subject, so to keep my chit-chat short; this site seems to cover what I expect:
1. Become a large database off all types of aircrafts in the world.
2. Become a site where you can find any type of aircraft related picture.
3. Where someone can find unusual and/or unique events/situations that might never happened again.
4. And last but not least, with a minimum, not maximum, level of quality
So everyone out there, start taking pictures, even using disposable cameras or low-end digital cameras. Let’s take a look at what you spot out there!
Good Spotting!!
I retract my previous retraction. i love JP<net and I'll stay here forever heart.gif
