I just got back from my trip to LA yesterday. I flew standby and didn't really have any problems getting to chicago or LA. We had to rush to the airport at about 6 in the morning because we had the wrong flight number. It wasn't my fault. So we finally get there. Security isn't that bad and we rush to B17 to see if we can get a seat on the flight to MDW. On the way I saw a pan am 727, which was really unusual. We finally get to the gate and the flight's only half full, so this part should be okay. We get to the very back of the plane, and I'm lucky enough to get a window seat. The flight to MDW was smooth. I got to see the sunrise from the air. They gave us either OJ or coffee. It seemed like they tried to water the OJ down to see if they could serve 130 people with one container.
We got on the 737-700 pretty shortly. The captain was and older dude, but that didn't bother me too much. He tried to make some jokes about alchohol. That didn't really go over well with anybody. He wasn't funny. I hadn't been on an airliner in four years, so I was a little nervous during the flight. I'm used to actually flying the plane I'm on. We flew over the rockies, which was really cool. But after 4 hours, it gets a little old. I only brought one magazine, and after I read that I didn't have anything to do. The snackboxes weren't good. They had some wheat thins and fig newtons, which I don't care for. The flight was a little bumpy so the seatbelt sign was on and off. The descent was rapid and a little uncomfortable.
Getting back was pretty much the same, except I didn't have the window seat, but I could still see out okay.
I also go to fly on one of the shamu 737's.
I kind of don't like the number of male flight attendants Southwest has. I haven't flown any other airline besides them, except for once. Do other airlines have this many? It seems like Southwest's FA's are either men or older women. But either way, they are professional and nice. We got bumped from one flight trying to get back to SDF. We barely made it on flight 634. Coming up throught the clouds to see the sunset was really something. And I finally got a flight with a really hot flight attendant. Which seems to me to be rare now.
Here's some pics from LA. I did some tourist kind of things. I got to see the cheers bar and Fox Mulder's office from the x files (i love that show!)

Does anybody know how I can get rid of that fuc%6in pole? I really thought this would be a good shot.

Yes... next time, walk to your left or your right until the pole isn't in front of you. ;)

Seriously.. that shot is very attainable with no obstructions at all at LAX.

LMAO!

In all seriousness though, it would have been a great shot! :)

good flight report, though you should really try to look at the bright side of things ;)

Also, the male flight attendants... apparently, BA has a great deal as well, but as long as they do their job, I don't believe we have any right to complain whatsoever- they're not there to please you. They're there for your safety, nothing more ;)

Thanks. Now that I look at it, I did make it look like I didn't have fun, which wasn't the case.
On a side note. I got on the LA subway to go back to my hotel at LAX from downtown. After I sat down a guy got on who was tanned, muscular, with slicked back hair and sunglasses. He looked normal, but he was sitting on, of all things, a purple little girls bike. Best of all, he sat there and checked out his reflection in the window.
People out there seem to like to look at themselves in mirrors or windows. One girl was waving at her reflection. I guess cocaine is a hell of a drug.

Looks like their pot houses over there are far more advanced than the ones we have inside an abandonned beer brewery!

FYI, OJ on Southwest comes right from 12-ounce aluminum cans just like all the other beverages.
