Well, I thought that it would have been interesting to know what equiptment each of us is using and what 'extra's' we have to it.
I'm using a Nikon Coolpix 995 with an extra 0.63x wide-angle adapter.
3.34 Mill Pixles and I'm very happy with it.
But what do you use, and is it some spesial camera that you will recommend to us other? images/smiles/icon_smile.gif

I am using a Canon PowerShot Pro90IS camera.
It has 10x optical zoom (38-380mm efective)
and 2.6 MegaPixels.
Has anyone used this?
I am planning to move to a SLR. Digital SLRs
are costly, so moving towards film SLRs.
Any suggestions??

Im jealous of your D60 there, Chris and your 400mm lense. Damn you.
Damn you too Peter for a digital camera. hahah..
anyway, im using a very basic "film" SLR. yup, a Nikon N65 with two good lenses. F/3.5 28-80mm AF and a F/4.0-5.6 80-300mm AF lense. Takes decent shots.
I use slide film, mainly I use Provia 100F if I order them online, if not, I'll use Kodak Ektachrome 100 at a local store for short notice trips.
I have a slide scanner also. It's a Minolta Dimage Scan Dual II. I was thinking of selling all my photo equipment and my scanner for a nice digital camera. It's be cool to have one for aviation spotting and when I tour the world on a ship in a couple months.
That's it....very basic, hehe..
I use the next: Nikon F80 and F70 bodies, Nikkor 70-210mm, Tamron 28-80mm and Sigma 135-400mm. They work just fine. images/smiles/icon_biggrin.gif

Add me to the D60 club. I wish I had that 400 IS though. I doubt I'll get one anytime soon as my wallet is still empty from the D60 purchase...I haven't eaten in two weeks images/smiles/icon_wink.gif
I do have a Sigma 400mm f5.6 which is a good lens but lacks the Image Stablization of that 400 that Chris has.
Prior to the D60, I used (and still do from time to time) a Canon A2 with Provia slide film.

I dont think the SONY F-707 goes under the category of SLR. Well, in my world SLR's are cameras with changeable lenses images/smiles/icon_wink.gif
Tough, its a good camera anyhow.. used to own it! laff.gif
"Elwood, that's a long lens for a 35-108mm"
Bart...Chris...
that's the price you pay for a tiny CCD-chip instead of a huge 24x36 piece of celluloid images/smiles/icon_wink.gif. And I should add…this is also the price for NOT investing enough money into a digital camera with changeable lens…
The 108mm for the CCD equal a 420mm conventional zoom-lens.
Makes sense now, eh?

I agree with Polish Air re: digital zoom... they are WORTHLESS.
My digital is an Olympus D-490 Zoom... It's okay... The zoom is really pretty weak and the glass in the lens not the best, so it's only good if you are right next to your subject and have good sunlight. Use the zoom and the images get a bit fuzzy... But, for $300, that's what ya get.
My film camera (would that be an analog camera?) is an old Nikon FG, and my main lens for planes is a 210mm Nikon Series E lens... It's old equipment, but it still takes a mean picture... Better than my digital at this point!

Nikon F5 for me - best SLR body out there! images/smiles/icon_wink.gif
But still waiting for Nikon to come out with a better digital! It will come, just have to hang in there!

Dmitry, nothing wrong with the D100 (or D1X if you prefer)... and of course.. you can always choose the winner.. and go with the Fuji S2 images/smiles/icon_wink.gif

I am using an Olympus C-720 with 8 times Optical Zoom (330mm) images/smiles/icon_smile.gif ...fine job it does! clap.gif clap.gif clap.gif clap.gif clap.gif
Goodday ! New to this forum.
I use a Nikon65 but just bought a modest digital camera. I was serious in doubt between the Olympus C730 and the HP850 and went for the HP850 because of the 4 million pixels and the decent optical zoom.
I will receive the camera next week and let's hope the camera gives me a lot of joy.

The same as Hkgspotter1.
Canon EOS 50E
Canon 35-105mm
Canon 75-300mm
Sigma 170-500mm
Hopefully when I have saved up some more money I can afford a suitable replacement or compromise for the two smaller lenses with just one lense.

Hello Jeff,
thanks for the welcome.
The Sigma is great, I'm glad I bought it off my friend, it's proven to be very useful in Hon gKong and my other spotting trips images/smiles/icon_smile.gif

I'm using SOny F707 with a Sony 1.7x Teleconvertor.
I love it, but am thinking about getting a D60 or perhaps the sucessor of the D60.

I've never posted any photos here, but I enjoy taking pics of planes. I need to get my scanner fixed. Here is what I use.
Cannon EOS Rebel 2000
<IMG SRC=http://www.jetphotos.net/user-uploads/CannonEOSRebel2k.gif>
Comes with a 28-80mm af/mf 0.38m/1.3ft lens
I also have a EF Zoom 75-300mm 1:4-5.6 III Lens
And I use a Quantaray SLR 58mm 1A Filter
Very nice setup. I'll try to post some pics soon.
