Hello all,

Here is my flight report from Brussels - Heraklion - Brussels. We booked with Intercomfort, flight was operated by TNT, but only a Hola plane :(
All times are local!

August 18th, TAY9411

As the flight was departing at 13:30, we didn't had to wake up early, but I got up at 8:15 too check if we had any delay. Lucky we didn't have any delay. When we arrived at the airport, we went too the Intercomfort desk to get our vouchers. There is only 1 desk, and we didn't get a news paper like we got with TUI last year.

Then we went to our check in row. There was quite some people, but the check in was very smooth. We reserved emergency exit seats, and only had 25Kg for 4 persons. With TNT 15KG is allowed per person. The guy at the check in desk was quite friendly.

Boarding started at 13:00, so we had some time to go and drink something at the "Belgian Beer Cafe" at the A-pier. This pier just keeps amazing me, very nice!

Afterwards we proceeded to our gate, which was A51 today. But when I looked I saw OO-TNE standing at the B-pier, so I knew we would get the Hola Airplane ... I think this is quite sad, because last year, when we booked with TUI, we also got twice a Futura plane... Anyways, when we arrived I took some pictures of our plane.

Flight : Brussels - Heraklion
Fight number : TAY9411
Aircraft : EC-IOR, Hola Airlines B737-300
Flight time : 3h 14'

Boarding started quite early, and as always I ask the head of cabin if I can take a picture of the cockpit. He told me it was fine, but when I entered the cockpit and the captain saw my camera, he told me I had to leave ... It's so sad we aren't even allowed to take a picture before the flight :(

I proceeded to my seat and noticed that on row 12 were only 2 seats. So the person in row 13 would have much legroom (something to remember for the return flight) The head of cabin welcomed us on board and wished us a nice flight.

EC-ISY, B757 operating for Thomas Cook

Just a second after the pushback had started, the flight crew began with the safety demonstration.
Take off went very smooth, and at 13:35 we were airborne from runway 25R.

After take off, airport still visible.

The service was quite good, first we received a drink. And after that we got our meal :

2 pieces of bread, a potato salad, chickenfilet and cheese. As dessert a very tasteful pudding! Very nice really!

After that they came around with soft drinks another time, and 2 times with coffee and tea.

The view I got for about 2h50'

I saw some airplanes during our cruise :
- Lufthansa, Airbus A320
- dBA, Boeing 737-300
- British Airways, (I think it was a B757)

Then the head of cabin announced the beginning of the descend, approach was smooth, but landing very hard, not good at all :!:

Long finals runway 27

Right after touchdown

Conclusion :
It was a nice flight, on time and good service. But I still think it is sad we had a Spanish plane ... again

Overall rating : 8.5/10

August 25th, TAY9412

The last day at the hotel ... waiting for the bus can be realy boring! We checked the room like 3 times to make sure we didn't forget anything. The bus was supposed to be at the hotel at 14:45, but was 30 minutes late.

We arrived at the airport of Heraklion in time. Went too the check in row 7. The check in is manually! The strips they but on your luggage is hand written, and the boarding pass ... just a piece of paper. Due of that fact the check in went quite slow. We asked the guy for row 13, but he gave us row 12 because the row 13 was reserved in Brussels, too bad!

No gate was given at the time we got in the departure hall, so we sat down and drank something. It was quite busy at the airport. I saw :

- 2 SkyEuropes 737-500
- White, Airbus A310
- AirOne, Boeing 737-300
- WindJet, Airbus A320
- A few Aegean and Olympic airplanes

A few tails

While waiting I was writing a letter too the captain. I asked him if he could fill in some details of the flight.

Flight : Heraklion - Brussels
Fight number : TAY9412
Aircraft : EC-IOR, Hola Airlines B737-300
Captain Croonenberghs

Some flight info :
V1 : 140 kts
Vr : 141 kts
V2 : 149 kts

Cruising FL : 320

Total fuel : 13700 kgs
Number of passengers : 122 + 4
SID : MILOS2C
STAR : BATTY1A
Take off runway : 27
Landing runway : 25R

Boarding started at 18:15, the bus picked us up for a very long ride of 50m (hehe  ) While I was entering the airplane I saw we had a female pilot today, so I knew we would have a smooth flight  I gave the paper to the head of cabin, and she gave it too the captain.

Runway 27 was in use, and after a few second of taxi we approached the holding point. We hold there for a minute or 2 and we lined up. After a take off roll of 29 seconds, at 18:45, we were airborne.

In flight we had some wonderful clouds :

Just beautiful!

We got the same meal (I just love the chocolate pudding :P ) and they came around with soft and hot drinks 5 times in total.

During both flights, there is a paper which goes around in the airplane with some useful info

The last part of our flight we could enjoy a beautiful sunset. And during our approach there was a thunderstorm a few miles from us, so beautiful if you can see lightning in an airplane 8)

We touched down at 21:04, and used about the whole lenght of the runway. After landing I was allowed to take a picture in the cockpit!

Conclusion :

This was one of my best flights. Beautiful clouds and sunset, and very good service! The flight was a bit late, but I don't care at all.

Overall rating : 9 / 10

A great thank you goes out too captain S. Croonenberghs for the information and the cockpit photo! Thanks a lot!

Same here, I'm assuming it was another airlines plane right?

The flight was operated by EC-IOR (Hola Airlines), but TNT also has 1 passenger plane (OO-TNE). It seems no one knows TNT also operates passenger flights.

Great report Herr Rutger..
Wow I didnt knew that. I thought they were only all-package-carrier.
Is this codesharing with Hola Airlines? Whats in it for TNT ? Are they the ones who get the passengers for Hola, I dont get it?, okey that line sounded wierd, Maybe an TNT*expert* can explain anything about this one?

EDIT:
can we see the cockpit photo ???

OY-KBN,

I don't know exactly how they call it, but TNT operates with a Hola plane (Hola pilots and TNT stewards). I think it's called wet-lease. So TNT makes sure the planes are full (and they were :p).

Hope it's a bit clear.

Well TNT started flying Passenger charter flights after Sobelair went bankrupt to take over the traffic that used to be flown by SLR but wasn't taken over by TUB...

Interesting report. The 757 at gate at BRU and White's 3-Ten venturing at HER make for interesting additional information.

TNT does cargo only, right? Or am I wrong?
