Alright, im planning a trip to Zurich next year around December probably 20th- Jan 2nd 06. What US Airport should i leave from and what airline..I was thinking LH through FRA but i dont know. I want to hear your opinions. It doesnt have to be a U.S. Carrier obviously

well its quite obvious that you'd go from the closest airport to your hometown and what ever airline is cheapest, i flew CO and found them to be really good, flow LX longhaul and found them so-so, flown LH and they are so-so, you just want to get there so just take whoever comes up with the best offer, that's unless your wanting opinions on First or Business class, if your travelling coach then what difference does it really make who you fly?

USA - ZRH is done by Swiss, United, Continental, American and Delta daily.
Make your choice ;-)

Should have thought about that earlier. Up until early last week DL had a fare sale for ZRH, with very low fares ;) .

How about trying Air Canada through Toronto.

Yeah i was looking at the UA one but hearing about the AC through Toronto makes me curious, it'd be cool to fly them. I have heard wonderful things about them.

I highly doubt UA-F9 guy would go DL. I would do swiss and leave from BOS, just because I hear swiss is very nice and I know UA-F9 guy likes airbus.

As far as I know AC does not fly to ZRH in winter, only in summer season.

Lol, well I have heard that DL is going under some renovations at ATL. Also their Airplanes are going under some interior re-dos and such. When this is all done i will give them another chance. But Swiss does sound nice out of BOS, they fly out of Chicago too so its an easy hop-skip and jump plus it would be on a 330 so i would be more then happy to try it out (thanks for remembering my Airbus pref.)

I have to warn you UA-F9 guy, connecting in KBOS might be a pain in the ass, UA and swiss used to be at the same terminal, if this were a year ago you could have gone ORD-BOS-ZRH with out having to change terminals (terminal C), and it sucks now because massport wont let international flights leave the internation terminal (terminal E) however, all good fun if you have time to connect and you don't mind a little adventure!

BTW, if you don't mind the drive to MKE and a short flight on NWA you could fly MKE-BOS-ZRH, I am only recomending this because NWA uses the same terminal as Swiss, so the connection would be easier.

A direct flight ORD-ZRH might be what you want anyway, just helpin out!

Yup AC is only summer service. Strange to me, a lot of canadians ski.

You could just do swiss non stop from ORD. (Unless leaving from DEN) Then you could do AA from DFW.

Lufthansa's a pretty good choice, great service and very efficient, not to mention you'll get n/s's to/from FRA. You'll also have plenty of connecting flights to choose from at FRA.

I would choose SK, A340 or A330 to Copenhagen or Stockholm and typical Scandanavian service.
