Hi everyone here,I'm going to the UK and the EU in Nov this year sometime, by the way, I'm in New Zealand. I'm using Qantas membership, which is belong to the One World Alliance, are there any flights operate from NZ to the EU and the UK. The problems are: frist I would like to have a stop over in Hong Kong or China, the second is I would like to stop in Frankfurt for a few weeks, then go to the UK. In the end the same way back to New Zealand. The Air New Zealand sells office told me there's only StarAlliance flights have those kind of air fares and flights, not One World. Are there any hard out One World members can help me with this? I will be really pleased!
Thanks
William

Cathay, well take CX to HKG and on to Frankfurt and BA to Lhr, do the same coming back, it's not that hard to work out...

Yeah, I know there are Cathay and BA. However, there's no that kind of air fare allow me to do that route. It only has CX flight to HLR or Frankfurt, if I want to fly to HLR from Frankfurt then I have to pay for another ticket. That's really sad!

Or you could just take US if you want and forget about Asia and come to good ol USA. You would do QA SYD-LAX then US LAX-PHL or LAX-CLT then either CLT/PHL-LGW.

Or last option.
QA SYD-HKG
US operated by LH HKG-FRA
US operated by LH FRA-LHR
Just to let you know US and QA have an agreement so you can earn miles flying on US flight.

Airfrancefan's itin would win my vote. Combining your itin and requirements at an acceptable fare often implies flying round the world. Furthermore as a cherry laid on the cake, you get one different aircarft on each leg and an extra stop in the US.
Otherwise I also can suggest an itin with Star Alliance, also round the world and use HKG, FRA and LON, your intended destinations. Provided you don't
- exceed a total distance of 38,000 miles
- fly backward somewhere
AKL-HKG - Air NZ
(or AKL-BKK-HKG with TG, or AKL-SIN-HKG with SQ, should you have some time AKL-SIN SQ stopover SIN, SIN-BKK TG or SQ stopover BKK and then BKK-HKG with TG)
HKG-FRA - LH
FRA-LON - BD
LON to LAX, hosts of solutions, possibility to include AC / US / UA
LAX-AKL - Air NZ
What I would do myself
AKL-SIN - SQ
SIN-BKK - TG for instance with a 330
BKK-HKG - TG for instance with a 777
HKG-FRA - LH
FRA-LHR - BD
LHR-YYZ - AC
YYZ-DEN - UA
DEN-SFO - UA
SFO-AKL - Air NZ NZ007 non stop 744

Thank you all! :smilewin: I have already booked with StarAlliance, becasue it seems much easier than One World(Even I like One World so much, can't help this time :-( ). I might have to save my Qantas airpoints for some other flights later. Now I'm Going to use AIR NZ points( it really sucks :-x ,if you people can give me some ideas on other good airpoints program within Staralliance, which will be great! ;) )
Itinerary:
Air New Zealand NZ85
Auckland to Hong Kong
Lufthansa LH721
Beijing to Frankfurt
Lufthansa LH4728
Frankfurt to London-Heathrow
And the same way back to Auckland New Zealand.
P.S. if you people can give me some ideas on other good airpoints program within Staralliance, which will be great! Any experience with some airpoints program???? Air NZ has changed it airpoints to airpoints dollars, which means really hard to get airpoints now.
Cheers!
