Hey Guys,
For those of you with real good memories I mentioned a while ago that I would be flying YYZ-HKG on the new AC 345. Turns out the entire itinerary has now changed and I will now be flying United on the following legs:

Oct. 18
UA 1101 YYZ-ORD
UA 857 ORD-PVG (With a stop in SFO i believe- Can anyone confirm?)

Oct.30
UA 888 PEK-SFO
UA 858 SFO-ORD
UA 1110 ORD-YYZ

I'm definitly looking forward to this trip since I've never been on UA nor have I been to China. For those of you who have flown United before i'm just wodering what the service is like and if any could help me what aircraft (type and reg.) I will be flying. Im really hoping to fly a 777 as I've never been on one before.
Lastly this should probably be in the off-topic forum but since I'm already making this post i'll throw it in- For those of you who have been to China, what is it like? I'm going on an exchange program with my school and really don't know what to expect. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

:( AC is a lot better with service but I think you get PTVs.

UAL 772ER had PTV and 744 doesnt.

You can take UAL from YYZ to SEA then NRT and PVG and back. From SFO-PVG is about 12 hrs than SEA-NRT and NRT-PVG

In that case I hope I get the 772ER rather than the 744. Been on the 744 before many times anyways. Also I i wish I could switch up the routing cause i'm 100% with you on this one, the more stops the better. Makes a trip all the more fun when you can stop in different cities. Unfortunately as I said before it's a school trip so the tour company has a arranged all the flights so I have no say in it.

United 1107 YYZ-ORD is on a 737-300
United 857 ORD-SFO-PVG is on a 747-400


United 888 PEK-SFO is on a 777-200
United 858 SFO-ORD is on an A319/A320
United 1110 ORD-YYZ is on a 737-300

Can't help you with the regs...

Isn't UA starting a ORD - PVG non stop?

Anyways, China (especially Shanghai) is awesome!

UA's 777s are very comfortable and great for long haul. 2-5-2 seating and PTVs. The 744s also have a lot of room, but no PTVs.

China is one of my favorite places to visit. In the big cities (especially Shanghai) everything is big, high tech, and brand new. From PVG, be sure to take the mag-lev train to downtown. The food is great and the sights are incredible!
